Style ’80s, Richmond woman collection winter 2015
A phone ringing and a voice says ”Hello”, music starts and models appearing on the catwalk. In this way the designer John Richmond begins the fashion show for Milan Fashion Week.
The collection fall/winter 2014/2015 evokes the New York city of the early ’80s of the talented Andy Warhol, one of the greatest exponents of american Pop Art.
These are the “best” years in British designer’s memory, when he launched his first collection, inspired to street’s clothing and nightclub.
Without doubt the thread of his career is the connection between love for fashion and her passion for rock music. Vague memories related to the eclectic Debbie Harry, the lead singer of Blondie in New York.
This was the whole idea of creating the mood of collection: a vintage style, perhaps less aggressive than his usual irreverent style.
A casual chic style, stamped by big prints, Pop colors: orange, blue, fuchsia and yellow. The day dresses have a sportswear style, youthful, extremely bright colors. Oversized coats, short skirts and suits with a masculine styling, broad shoulders typical eighties style.
Evening dresses are long, slender and feminine silhouettes. Colors are dark, black matched with gold and silver. Extreme and provocative necklines, to give a sensuality touch.
Different fabrics: mohair, neoprene and leather for the day, silk and new soft textures for curvy dresses, illuminated with paillettes and gleaming crystals for night.
Shoes are the real protagonist of accessories. Boots above the knee to wear with skirts or ankle to wear with pants. For evening sandals, metallic colors.
